“Christmas time is here

Happiness and cheer

Fun for all that children call

Their favorite time of the year...

Oh, that we could always see

Such spirit through the year…”

“Christmas Time is Here,” a classic off the Charlie Brown Christmas album that hopefully everyone has heard a time or two. The song brings back sweet childhood memories of the magic of the Christmas season. As we embrace the Christmas spirit, we find ourselves reflecting on a special gift we’ve been given this year: the Legacy Gift program.

The Gift of Giving

When we established the Legacy Gift program, we knew it would have impact on those who received the gifts. What we didn’t realize, though, was the impact that it would turn around and have on us.

Hearing the stories of those in need, working to distribute the actual Legacy Gifts, and receiving feedback from recipients has been an invaluable gift to all of us at Taylor’s Gift. The opportunity to assist those in need is something that will, no doubt, give us Christmas cheer all through the year.

Words that Warm

Receiving notes like these from Legacy Gift recipients we can’t help but be moved by the heartwarming thanks.

“After my sisters death, I didn’t know how much further my finances could be stretched. My sister had no insurance, my mom was trying to get here and the children had needs that I couldn’t meet. Thank you for helping with our gas and electric bills. Words cannot express my gratitude toward Taylor’s Gift Foundation and the people who help when everything seems so dark.“

“I want to thank Taylor’s Gift Foundation with all my Heart for paying for the cremation. We were in Texas visiting my son and grandson. She and I were to get married next week. We were looking at wedding dresses when she had a massive stroke. They did CPR on her and got her heart back pumping but could not get her to breathe on her own. I didn’t know she was a organ donor [and] I registered today. I will get my family and her family to register also. Thank you very, very much. Taylor’s Gift Foundation helped us tremendously.”

The feelings are hard to describe, but moments like these make us feel truly connected to our purpose and mission. We are so grateful for this unique opportunity. When we asked our committee how they feel to be a part of this they responded in just the way we would expect: gratitude.

“My feelings about being on the committee is one of gratefulness. I just am so grateful that we are able to help these families in need. It always makes me realize that this is exactly what the foundation should be doing....helping those touched by organ donation.“

“Being a part of the Legacy Gift program is bitter sweet. Hearing the stories usually wrapped in such tragedy and sadness is heart wrenching, but then knowing we were there in their moment of sadness and need to provide help and light in the darkness makes it so worthwhile. I’m honored to be part of such an amazing program directly touching those families who gave the gift of life.”

“Helping with the Legacy Gift program has really opened my eyes to the very real need that exists for those touched by organ donation. Serving on the committee I am able to witness how Taylor’s GIft is shining a light in the darkness, and it is an encouragement for the hope that is to come.”
