Notes from Readers Around the World
"My husband and I are sitting in his hospital room, watching the Super Bowl game with his new liver. Thursday morning we were surprised to get that phone call that we dared to hope for; "can you leave in 20 minutes? We have a liver!" So we flowed on the well orchestrated, detail filled process and now we are down recovery road! Not even a week earlier I "just happened" to see Taylor's Gift, not having any previous knowledge of it. I had to buy it, my husband had just been placed on the transplant list the month before. When The Call came the book was hurriedly thrown in my suitcase. I started it yesterday and plan to finish it before crashing on the pull-out bed. I am SO thankful that the Storches made themselves vulnerable and gave of themselves to write their story. I have talked with some of the nurses here about the book and intend on leaving it for them to read and share. They are looking forward to it! It has made me wonder if this book is ever placed in hospitals or clinics...just wondering if every recipient should receive one!"

"I just finished reading Taylor's Gift and felt the need to write you. I'm so sorry for the loss you have endured. The fact that you made yourselves so vulnerable and honest to us readers during such a difficult time, is truly amazing. And that you could find blessings in such a hard time in your lives it what inspires me.
I am 34 years old and I am a receiver of a pair of lungs. I got my double lung transplant 5 1/2 years ago and have had this beautiful new outlook on life. I loved all the little miracles you included in your journey, because I have to say, I witnessed different, but miracles along the way with my journey and I continue to do so. I have to make sure and keep my eyes open to them, because they are all around.
I never had the chance to meet my donor and therefore never really felt a connection. However, that doesn't mean I don't appreciate what they gave me. It was so emotional yet comforting to read your book and to be able to see it from a donor family's perspective. It makes me appreciate these lungs so much more!
My lungs are in rejection and have been for 1 1/2 years. They say I may have another transplant, but for now, we're trying to keep the ones I currently have. I'm not sure what my future holds, but I know God has a plan.
Thank you for the inspiration you have re-ignited in me that God does have a purpose and reason for everything. Sometimes I lose track when the future is so unclear and unknown. God Bless you and your family and all the work you are doing!!!"

"I just finished reading Taylor's Gift. What a wonderful book! My sister-in-law died of a stroke at 51 and they donated her organs. I didn't realize what a difference that could make! I have 4 children and they, too, are involved in everything just as your Taylor was. I cannot even imagine going through what you did. Your book made me take a look at my own faith and to not take anything for granted. Thanks so much!"
- The Sister of an Organ Donor Reader
"I am reading your beautiful book, Taylor's Gift, having found it at my local library.Your story is incredibly sad yet inspiring and hopeful.I am so touched by your inner strength and faith, by your ability to carry on through this journey in Taylor's name. Your daughter's spirit lives on not just in her organ recipients but in so many peoples' hearts because of your enduring love for her.
I will pray for your family, and the family of every donor and recipient, that God may continue to give you strength and comfort you throughout your lives.Thank you so much for having the courage to share your story -- and Taylor's -- with the world."

- An International Reader
"I am 2/3 finished with your book, Taylor's Gift and I can't wait to share this remarkable story with others. As a librarian I can see through this book more and more people realizing how vital organ donation is to others.
Thank you for sharing your story and I am already checked the organ donation place on my driver's license. However, my husband and 19 year old son I am not sure about and will check to see if they have marked the spot.
May God continue to bless you as you use Taylor's death to reach others. Romans 8:28 is one of my family's favorite verses."
