My best friend lost a child a few days before his second birthday. We both read a book, Jantsen's Gift, by Pam Cope. It is a true story about grief, rescue, and grace. The author, Pam, lost a son at 15 and wanted to do something meaningful in his honor. She read a New York Times article about young children being sold into slavery and she became determined to find a way to rescue these children.
My friend and I were so touched by her book. She decided she wanted to build a house in her son's memory at Touch A Life Care Center in Ghana. We have raised money together for many nonprofits, but nothing was more important than this mission. Today, Zachary's House is home to 14 young girls. They have a bright future. The children at Touch A Life have a sense of belonging. They are loved and safe. These children will be around long after I am gone. They will go on to have jobs and families.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Touch A Life Care Center in Ghana and see Zachary’s House. I was also fortunate enough to visit Taylor's House at Touch A Life. It is the home to 17 beautiful girls. Jantsen, Zachary, and Taylor are all outliving themselves.
We are thrilled to honor Robin Bagwell at the 2nd Annual Outlive Yourself Awards this Fall.
Robin is a passionate volunteer who has given her time and talents to many organizations and non-profit boards throughout Dallas. She is also a living donor who saved her husband’s life when he needed a kidney transplant. The kindness and generosity that Robin exemplifies is a seemingly natural overflow of her good-spirited nature.
Join us in honoring both Robin and Kathy Aulson at the 2nd Annual Outlive Yourself Awards held on November 3rd, 2016 at the Belo Mansion in Dallas, Tx.
The Outlive Yourself Awards is an opportunity for us to celebrate incredible individuals who have made an extraordinary impact in their community and truly embody the ‘Outlive Yourself’ spirit by giving back to others.
Proceeds raised at this event will help our mission and support our Legacy Gift program. You can read more about our Legacy Gift program here.
