Living Organ Donor & 2018 Outlive Yourself Award Honoree: Ms. Meg Bacino

Margaret ‘Meg’ Bacino donated her kidney to her son Nick when he was 5 years old after several months of caring for him including dialysis in their home. After his transplant, Meg ran half-marathons and triathlons to increase awareness of being a living donor.  She was also involved in fundraisers that supported and encouraged organ donation. After 10 years of health Nick began to have decreased kidney function and for the last few years Meg has been with him in dialysis 3 times per week. She changed her career and has sacrificed her entire life to ensure and protect her son who is now 19. Meg also made a difference in outliving herself by sharing her experiences with others and encouraging those who she met to consider organ donation.

A Fun Friday of Fundraising at the Houston Topgolf Tournament!

Last Friday, May 15th, Taylor’s Gift Foundation hosted our very first event in Houston, Texas at Topgolf Spring! A fun tournament that was full of energy for Taylor's Gift brought together new supporters, friends, and volunteers in the Houston community. Funds raised at the event will go to help the mission of Taylor's Gift and support our Houston partners, Nora’s Home and LifeGift.

It was such a treat to be joined by local Houston celebrities! We had fun spending the day with Robert Boudwin, aka Clutch the Houston Rockets mascot, Owen Conflenti from KPRC Channel 2, and Producer Eric from the KRBE Roula and Ryan Show.

"It was an honor and pleasure for my wife Amy and I to help produce and co-host this golf tournament with Taylor's Gift.  We are so happy to have forged what we know will be a lasting and meaningful relationship with Taylor's Gift co-founder Tara Storch.  I'm proud that we were able to raise awareness for organ donation and funds for donor families at not only the tournament, but also through telling our stories on many Houston TV and radio stations promoting the event that will hopefully inspire people to become organ donors and ultimately SAVE LIVES!" - Robert Boudwin, aka Clutch the Houston Rockets mascot
